Direct Line was founded in April 1985 and focused on selling car insurance over the telephone. Since its establishment the company has grown substantially with international operations in Germany, Italy and Spain. Direct Line offers a range of insurance policies including car insurance, home insurance and travel insurance. You can save 10% on your car insurance, breakdown cover and 15% on home insurance when you buy online as well as saving 10% on your pet insurance and travel insurance.
Direct Line is one of the UK’s largest mortgage lenders and offers a range of fixed rate, and discount tracker mortgages. The Direct Line mortgage range allows you to make over-payments and save on interest, or take payment holidays. If you want low mortgage payments or cash back in the early years Direct Line have a variable rate mortgage.
